general conclusions regarding the salvage
treatment options from the literature. Selected
patients with local or loco regional recurrence
can be successfully salvaged with surgery and or
radiation.
Radiation can be External Radiation or
Brachytherapy. Many Radiation oncologists
are reluctant to administer curative dose
of radiation following previous high-dose
radiotherapy, particularly when such sites show
excessive chronic radiation changes and brosis.
Brachytherapy is a good modality to achieve
high dose radiation to tumour with lesser normal
tissue toxicity especially in recurrent Head and
Neck cancer.
Herein, we display one of our cases which was
treated at ACCF Barpeta Cancer Centre.
A case of 73-year-old lady who got treated
Pre Brachytherapy
for carcinoma oropharynx with radical dose
elsewhere in January 2022. Now she came with
recurrent Head and Neck cancer at soft palate
region without any regional lymph node. She was
treated with surface mould brachytherapy at our
centre.
